Something for my Mom and Dad: A Union of 60: Les and Alleen 60 years of union under the Blessings of God They started young, green and yet sure of their love, Les started to care for the family, started working at a steady, reliable job Alleen started raising the 1st of three, Then there were three and they moved the crew out to the country With Les’s steady hand and the hard work and support of Alleen That kind of open, barren land took shape With tree planting, gardens, well house, barn, a cow and calves, chickens That plot of land grew strong as did the 3 boys The boys chopped stickers and picked vegetables, Probably griping more than working, but working as they would Each of them finished school, got married (at least once), And had grandkids 3 manchilds and 2 womanchilds, The touch and legacy of the Les and Alleen union continues Now after 60 years we can all look back and see the joys, the pain, and the love and the greatest of these is love.
