Something has been nagging at my brain all day....I read and article this morning about fast food workers wanting to raise minimum wage to $15 per hour. This afternoon we were out in the 90 degree heat, with no shade and high humidity, picking butter peas. We got about 1 bushel of butter peas in 3 hours of picking and it took 3 of us to do it. I will happily sell those butter peas for around $20. That means I made $2.22 per hour....maybe instead of spending the money on fast food, you should buy more organic veggies and help out your local farmers and community. We are happy to make less than minimum wage to bring you healthy food! And that folks is my soap box for today :)
