Something has to change, we cant forget and most likely going to keep posting reminders like this, that some beautiful bulldogs end up in the shelters and dont get adopted. Wilmas story is typical and too common now too. She was someones puppy once, hopefully grew to be a family member - now like many a tossed aside and forgotten senior looking for a home. Wilma was picked up as a stray in Lompoc on June 24th and sat there until today waiting for her owners to show up. She is estimated as 8 years old. She has a friendly disposition but has not had a formal evaluation. Her medical evaluation noted: No masses and clear lungs Reddened eyes, green discharge, and cloudy cornea in both eyes – put on BNP pending stain and tear test Enlarged vulva and nipples Swelling between right front toes 3&4 (she had severely overgrown toenails that were trimmed) Her coat is slightly greasy and shedding More information on adoption or how you can help bulldogs like Wilma at socalbulldogrescue.org and if out our area -please visit rescuebulldogs.org
