Something tells me that changes to working conditions and pay - TopicsExpress

Something tells me that changes to working conditions and pay rates is not long away (Work Choices, Mark 2). I was also thinking, if they want people off the dole, why not actually work on CREATING JOBS for them instead of shifting jobs offshore? And, afer theyre done, make their wages ATTRACTIVE to people. Let the people who are willing to work nights, weekends and public holidays KEEP their penalty rates. They give up a lot to work those hours and save the rest of us from havng to do it. And why not increase the hourly rates for everyone, so that people can see that actually taking the time and trouble to work two jobs... the first being taking care of the family, getting kids to school etc... is actually worthwhile, and they can see themselves getting ahead, rather than going to work while paying a phenomenal sum for childcare, clothing, petrol and lunches, that means you are worse off than before you had the job. If they want people to work, then stop paying them a pittance. Stop making them feel like rats on a treadmill that leads to nowhere. Stop giving concessions to billionaires and start looking after real hard working people! Stop making us pay taxes while they pay nothing and simultaneously shift HUGE sums of our money into offshore accounts, while they also shift more of our jobs overseas. Nothing like increasing the profit margin eh? Once, in the olden days, employers saw themselves as having a responsibility towards their workers, and appreciated them by giving bonuses at Christmas time, like a few extra dollars in your pay packet. They watched you and if they saw you were doing your best they would give you a raise. When is the last time you heard any of this being done? 20 years? 30 or 40 years? Once we could pretend that we werent economic slaves. Now they make it clearer to us every darn day...
