Something that has come out of reading many of these posts on here is the fact that I now realize that many renters and or homeowners do not know their responsibilities when it comes to things like what they are responsible for and what the city is responsible for. I think it might be a good idea for the city to write up a flyer that details their responsibilities, such as they are responsible for mowing the alleys behind their home, even though it is not fenced, if they have tree limbs hanging over the roadway it is their job to cut them not the city, and if they or a previous owner has fenced in either the front or back easement then if there is a problem with one of the utilities and repair people have to get in to get to them for repairs then the home owner is subject to having their fence taken down and not put back up. If a flyer such as this was handed out to all new water customers and mailed to all current water customers it might help get some of these things done and or reduce the number of times the city gets cussed or accused of being lazy about cutting or maintaining things that they are not responsible for.
