Something that my Tibetan Buddhist teacher, Sogyal Rinpoche, says - TopicsExpress

Something that my Tibetan Buddhist teacher, Sogyal Rinpoche, says repeatedly, which I really love, is Its not about Buddhism, its about truth. I have found that a strength in Buddhism as a path is an emphasis on regularly dissolving our notions and concepts, so that we dont solidify things for too long. Its not about Buddhism, its not about Quakerism, its not about Christianity. Its about truth. Entering different forms of worship helps me not to get caught in a particular form, to keep encountering life, and truth, afresh. Its not about mixing all the different paths into a spiritual soup, though. I can better appreciate each different form and language in and for itself, when I remember to see each as temporary forms arising from and falling back into something deeper. This applies to people too, of course! So, what teachers, saints, poets or others help you to keep your spirit fresh?
