Something that really bothers me about internet fitness is the - TopicsExpress

Something that really bothers me about internet fitness is the extreme right or left, black or white ideals that are argued. It is as if everything is definite or better than another way, and that is very much not the case. Simple example is HIIT vs Steady State cardio. HIIT has been getting rave reviews for its fat burning and therefor steady state cardio is a thing of the past. I kindly disagree! I think a mix is best. HIIT is muscle building or anaerobic and will require more rest time for recovery. Because of that, you shouldnt be doing HIIT on a daily basis. Steady state is more mild in nature and the body can repair faster from it. It still works, too! Another is clean eating vs IIFYM (if it fits your macros) vs Vegan vs raw vegan vs paleo vs Intermittent Fasting and on and on. There is no one size fits all when it comes to nutrition. Find what works for you. Try all of them out and follow the one that you can hold to, see progress and maintain long term. Another is Crossfit vs traditional bodybuilding style for training. Both have their benefits and if you love it and can stick with it, then do it and enjoy it! My point is that we should to strive to fall more in the grey area with our thinking and be able to enjoy the benefits of all things fitness. My way isnt better than yours, my way is simply what makes me happy! If you are going to be happy with your fitness and keep it long term, it is important that you do what you love and can stick with, regardless of what the avatar on the internet tells you.
