Sometime today; Mayor Carpenter is expected to veto $500,000 in appropriated funds intended for the purpose of defending the city of Brockton against the $68 miliooooooooooon dollar lawsuit filed against the city by the folks who want to build a nice friendly power plant here. With funding for the legal defense withheld; the city will then be forced to settle the lawsuit and pay out a negotiated sum of money far greater than $500,000; but theoretically less than the completely ridiculous and far fetched 68 million figure. At which time the power plant will then begin construction and Real Estate brokers can finally start making some money off all the people who then realize its time to sell their house on the East side and move to Fall River. Theyll come to that realization when they see how far their property value falls. Sometime after that; the rest of the folks who own homes in Brockton will come to see that this city has no chance of paying for services and schools with a crippled residential tax base and so its doomed. At which time those people too can cut their loses and sell their houses as well. It takes a Carpenter to build a city and a Real Estate Broker to sell it down the river. We hit the quenelle in that regard Brockton and its about to hit us back.
