Sometimes God has to open our eyes to let us know how truly blessed we are and show us how we actually could be in someone elses shoes. Today me and my BFF, Lisa Garnett Cale were out at the store and I was actually pissed because I couldnt shop today like I wanted to because it wasnt in the budget. Were leaving out of the parking lot and see a father and 4 kids and they were pushing two heavily loaded store carts with all kinds of bags and clothes in them. They went into the store and the kids couldnt get anything but free water. A car pulls up and someone gave them a few dollars and they all go into Taco Bell and get some food. The dad got whatever he was able to get with the few dollars he was given and he sat the kids on the grass and they split the food between them. We felt so sorry for them and we gathered up the dollars we had on us and gave it to the dad. He was so happy and he told us that 3 months ago he had lost his job and then lost his house as a result of it. They were homeless so he was going to use that money to put towards a room for them. He told us that he had a wife and a baby as well. Im thinking Wow, I was actually mad that I wanted to get a purse and shoes and for what? To put with the other 100 pair I already have at home! Sometimes we just have to think and know that we are truly, truly fortunate and blessed!
