Sometimes, I miss the simpler days of Full House, Family Matters, and The Cosby Show. I even miss All In The Family and I Love Lucy. I miss when music used to always have a message and didnt follow the next big thing as a trend. I miss gas prices being less than a dollar, and someone giving you $5 to go to Wal-Mart was acceptable. I miss the old days, but all things must change in order to get better. Im slowly learning that changes have to be made in order for progress to happen. I used to be terrified of change. I didnt want to leave Grambling to get my Masters degree. I didnt want to leave Monroe to pursue better career/business opportunities or expand my horizons. I didnt want to change my eating habits to become a healthier person. I loved my two Double Cheeseburgers for $2 (now McDoubles). But, change is good. Change has been prevalent in my life over the last few years. Im no longer a single, hot-headed kid that would attack anyone at the drop of a dime. Im more emotionally mature and understanding. No longer do I let anger speak for me and my actions. And Im engaged to a great woman that I love. Change can be scary, but it can be good. There is so much more I have to change within myself, but I think Im off to a pretty good start.
