Sometimes doing the right thing hurts so much. Egypt has been - TopicsExpress

Sometimes doing the right thing hurts so much. Egypt has been having some major health issues this year and being 16 was pretty obvious. Her hips were the major problem and the pain was getting worse. So after trying a couple of medications/solutions and pain pills we decided to respect & honor her and well, we took her to Dr. Dave today and allowed her to pass in peace. It wasn’t an easy choice and our house will be so lonely and our hearts will be hurting, but Patti and I both know this is the best thing for her. I first saw Egypt fifteen yrs ago when she was out for a walk at the MSCPA in Centerville. She had been there a while, they warned me she was not house trained, was aggressive and well was a handful. I walked into the cages, saw her and she looked at me through the cage and said I’ll take her. One of the best quick decisions I ever made. I took her home three days later and the first night she slept on my chest… and I’ve loved her ever since. It took Patti a little longer to “warm” up to her, but she found a way into her heart. Egypt could do that. Funny how important a pet can be, but she is. So today we did the right thing, and it hurts so much. But we have done what we think, no what we know, was the right thing for our four legged child and allowed her to suffer no more and pass in peace. Da Woodman
