Sometimes, in response to the penetrating power of your own - TopicsExpress

Sometimes, in response to the penetrating power of your own satsang, a changing over of power is experienced. A shift from manual to automatic takes place. The sleeping bag I unzips; the Beingness crawls out yawning and stretching as it again discovers its natural fullness. Trapped energies like your conditioning, habits, fears, attachments and desires that were once the fabric holding your sense of an independent and autonomous existence together, unravel. Dormant memories and tendencies flare up for a little bit. You will be experiencing in ways that are new for you. Therefore, it is not unusual that a lot of turbulence may be present for some time. Let everything happen. Refrain from drawing any conclusions about anything you perceive. Just keep quiet. Let it happen. Resist the tendency to interpret the events. Dont judge anything. For a while, you may find your lifes routine is nothing like a routine anymore. You may forget your keys, your phone number, what bus to take home and so on. Panic may enter your mind. How lucky that you are in satsang, an environment where you are reminded that all of this is okay. You are held in Gods palm, so dont worry about having to take care of yourself. You have been doing that long enough. Now you are getting to know how the universe takes care of you. Gradually, youll feel a deeper peace inside that is not easily disturbed. Your moods will settle into a natural kind of equilibrium. It is recognised then that actions and reactions, which previously you felt deeply involved with, are perceived in this space of Awareness that you are one with, but you are not touched. There is a steadiness, a depth in this recognition, and great joy arises without reason. The initial unsteadiness in the experiential realm represents the birth pangs as you are being reborn into Emptiness. Let that revealing happen until it stills. It is no more than the sound an empty bottle makes when you throw it into the ocean: blip, blip. Once all the air is out, it becomes completely quiet and sinks to the oceans floor. Your mind is like this bottle. At first it makes some blup, blup noise until it becomes very quiet. So, dont be perturbed by these things. They will happen. Even if you think you are going nuts. This also passes. These are just little bubbles fizzing out. Resist the temptation to formulate any conclusions. It is the mind that is fighting to retain its hold. Youve been living life as if you were playing it from sheet music. Now that all the paper has been burnt, you have to play your lifes song by ear. It is not up to you to take care of how things are. Very few people can stand it. Some may turn back, and the mind is eagerly waiting to welcome your return. But in satsang you are encouraged to endure this squeeze and the discomfort. It is only for a limited time like this, only for as long the Beingness needs to burp up some old, trapped energies. Some inner spring-cleaning is going on. It is a good sign.
