Sometimes it’s not the destination……… but the journey. We are back from an incredible 18 day journey with Tim’s mom and stepdad, Janice and Wayne McNutt. No way to pick a favorite thing! In Paris we attended a service and kissed THE Crown of Thorns at Notre Dame Cathedral, ate at sidewalk cafes, saw Versailles and it’s lovely gardens, walked under the Eiffel Tower, toured the Normandy beaches and Normandy American Cemetery and Memorial, ate as many twisted biscuits (croissants) as we could, took a train under the English Channel, saw a musical in London, went to an organ recital in Westminster Abbey, rode a double-decker bus in London, just the 4 of us had Stonehenge to ourselves at sunrise, saw Big Ben, rode the London Eye, rode a boat on the River Thames, saw Buckingham Palace, horse guards, 10 Downing Street, stopped for ice crem or gelato regulary, walked across Abbey Road crosswalk made famous by the Beatles, had a massage, went to the Casbah in Liverpool, saw the childhood homes of the Beatles and places special to them, rode the Jacobite Express train (Harry Potter viaduct), drove through beautiful scenery in the Scottish Highlands: Glencoe and Cairngorms National Park with heather covered mountains for hours, went to Glamis Castle, the Childhood Home of HM Queen Elizabeth, walked across the Swilken Bridge at St Andrews Golf course, saw the Firth of Fifth Bridge just outside Edinburgh, went to Rosslyn Chapel, saw the Scottish Crown Jewels in Edinburgh Castle, saw the Edinburgh Military Tattoo performance, street performers in London and Edinburgh, meet lots of wonderful people.
