Sometimes people often ask me for advice. I studied Economic and Life Science and asters in Economics. I also took alot of random courses. 1. Stop focusing on getting a 12 point avg unless youre eager on graduate degree or professional degree like med, law etc 2. Emphasis should be in internships and co-op during the summer . You can be the A student all you want but without experience , employers will overlook you 3. If 5 course a semester overwhelms you, take 4 a semester and then take the 2 in the summer or extra year of uni (you will not die). or what happens is you start to miss classes to compensate for others 4. Interact with professor, being a TA is highly beneficial , it can help for reference in the future and pays so well that you can pay tuition 5. DO NOT spend osap money on going out. you will regret it 6. If working . try to open a savings account, and put 25 every paycheck. This will help you AFTER UNI. 7. Dont try to attend every party, study and do well . Half of your bestfriend will be acquintance after school ends 8. Dont not jeopardize school work to be the president / secretary of every club at school. Those mean nothing on resume after school ***9. Did i mention the importance of internship or co-op . Why? By third year , you will most likely doubt your major and might want to change it . By that time , you may just graduate because its too late. Intern at a field you enjoy. 10. Have fun!!!!!!! extra.. go on Vacay winter time- use summer time for internship .. or take college course for a more practical apprach.. eg software course, finance modelling etc. University is known for theory knowledge ( which you will only retain 10% after school. but college teaches you a more practical or hands on approach
