Sometimes we carry an umbrella with us when we walk just in case it rains. Sometimes the sun comes out and we feel a bit foolish carrying the umbrella. Umbrellas are a form of protection and if it does rain, we open the umbrella and are shielded from adverse situations. Our walk is much more pleasant than it otherwise might have been. In the same way we carry Christ Jesus with us everywhere. Perhaps we look a bit foolish always having Christ Jesus with us, but we are fools for Christ and similar to a recent credit card commercial we say we wouldnt leave home without Him. Even on days that turn out sunny and beautiful He is there at our side just in case. He is our protection and provides us with credit, even when our sins are manifold.
