Sometimes when I play guitar I get really emotional. Tonight Ive been learning Ed Sheerans gem Lego House and I just cant seem to hold back the tears. While the meaning as Ed intended it is actually about a break up, for me its a beautiful metaphor that shows the incredible power we have to heal, to succeed and to love ourselves. I think about all the shame I feel for the people Ive hurt and the stupid things Ive done in my past and no matter how bad things seem to get, my spirit stands up tall from within and says: If youre broken I will mend you and Ill keep you sheltered from the storm thats raging on. I think about all the plans and wishes I have for my life, how big I dream and how hard try and try and try... and I know: Ill do it all for you in time. Most importantly, despite the good and the bad, I know it wasnt all for not if at the end of the day I can look at myself in the mirror and say: And out of all these things Ive done, I think I love you better now.
