Sometimes you dont know how trapped you really are... until you try to break free. Its then, that you truly realize exactly what its gonna TAKE.. for you to BE free..-- A quote I heard last week, from a very overwhelmed young woman. And I stopped in my tracks.. at her rather unintentional, expression of ABSOLUTE wisdom!! U see.. this sentence just kind of tumbled out... It sprung up out of the depths of her heart and spirit as she was observing her life, and acknowledging her self-applied chains of bondage and confining misery. Amongst all the cants and wont be able tos and this is too tough for mes and the its just too hards... of her conversation.... This perfectly golden piece of wisdom... came spilling out. And she didnt even realize what she had said.... nor how amazing a revelation it really WAS for her.. What beginnings of freedom.. lie in it for her, should she truly embrace it. And I said, Did you hear what you JUST said.? She just stared at me and shoke her head back and forth, with a question mark clearly in her eyes... I asked her again... with a little more explanation... Among all the things you are hurting over... and allowing to spill out; in the middle of all your self-loathing, self-criticism, negative talk, doubt, anger, and sorrow... you actually said the one thing that is the key to this all. A glimmer of both hope and dis-belief surfaced to the top and traveled to the corners of her mouth. Hon... do you WANT to be free? Oh yes! Yes she did, she assured me... And I know you have tried... And she started to cry... And I shared with her my understanding... of her fear, her doubt, her avoidance of her entire Life ISSUE... You see, its soo subtelly easy... so get accustomed to less and less movement as the chains of addiction (ANY KIND) or some type of destructive behavior, or allowance of some type of sin or thing in your life... begin to cinch and bind and tighten more and more and more. Pain, problems, and activities that are gradual and progressive-- have a way of masking and hiding the true force of their strength, the theft, power, effect and presence in your life. We deal with a little bit less and a little bit less light and vision. We adapt to a little bit less, and a little bit less control and freedom. We slide slowly down into a deeper, and much deeper pit of darkness, restraint, pain, misery and helplessness the longer we dont TRY to break free. And so many... as I saw in the case of this young lady--- when once they DO reach an absolutely unbearable(one minute longer) pit of tar and quicksand of heaviness-- and try to make a conscience MOVE up, out, and forward.. Its really then AND ONLY then-- that the REALITY of the strength of that particular prison.. HITS THEM square in the face. And when they truly SEE.. what it will take on their part to co-operate with freedoms requirements,.. to untangle, cut, release, resist, to press, to move, to stand, to declare, to BE responsible and active IN their deliverance and MAINTENANCE OF that freedom... Well, it just freaks um right out... and down and little but further into fear and despair. So I told her... God is The Way that this will take place. (As the new Audio Adrenaline song croones--He moves. You move.) You are not doing this alone. He is your confident. Your partner. Your strength. Your guide. Your motivation. Your peace. He.. is your progress. He... will show you what progress really is. He is your barometer and your benchmark; your cheerleader and your coach. And He will be your rewarder and your Redeemer! Yes... it will take hard work. Yes.. you will have to be transparent. Mm-Hmm.. you will need to be completely honest. Yep.. at times you will mess up and need to back-track, and get BACK on track. You might scream and cry and stomp and wanna give up. But so MANY times... it is the fear of how REALLY far they have gone the wrong way....its the doubt that they have what it takes to REALLY do what will be necessary to pull out and STAY OUT.... that scares people into not even trying. It scares people. But it doesnt scare God. The alternative is further damage. More bondage. Increased pain. More shackles and chains. Darker darkness. Deeper despair. Death... ? Reach out.. and rise up today. My encounter with this precious woman.. has caused my heart to be sooo compelled to (not only have shared this with her...but) to share this with YOU today. I want you to know.. that Jesus IS the Answer. God is the Way. And.. we are here for you. I.. am here for you. And all my friends on Facebook who are reading this and nodding their heads in agreement and understanding... are here for you as well. And.. I would encourage you to REACH OUT to God...
