Sometimes, you look at a poet and think he / she was just cast by perhaps a very wise or a somewhat sadistic God to be the quintessential personification of a certain kind of poetry - the voice, the poets voice, the looks, the life - everything just a certain poem, cast in the mould of a mortal breath. I get that feeling when I think of Shiv Kumar Batalvi, whose birthday it is today - he is just a play of some God, cast in the mould of the romantic tragic poetry... (It is a feeling that makes me experience many an emotion simultaneously - the painful joy of a poets life, the inevitable sadness of being so full of lust for life that it sometimes turns acidic.)
