Sometimes, youd face a difficult situation, in which your sono findings were not supported by MRI study.... -----49 y/o female w/ left medial knee pain for several months. She had previous knee contusion injury, but x-ray taken then was unremarkable. a medial meniscal cyst was found in her first visit, and MRI was performed after referral to orthopedic surgeon. MRI, however, did not show corresponding cystic lesion; and ortho Dr. suggest conservative tx. She still experienced persistent medial knee pain, especially on weight bearing and stair walking. After thorough explanations, she received USG-PRP injection into the cleft connecting the meniscal cyst and inferior border of medial meniscus.
