Somewhere in this thread I recall a reference to the Ollies - TopicsExpress

Somewhere in this thread I recall a reference to the Ollies Trolley that stood on the northeast corner of N. Broadway and W. Fourth in the late 1970s. The menu of hamburgers and hot dogs was augmented by the most deliciously seasoned fries I have ever tasted. If you, too, enjoyed Ollies fries, then until now you would have to travel to downtown Washington, D.C., near the convention center to visit the sole remaining Ollies Trolley. I say until now because I recently came across the original recipe that can be easily duplicated at home. We store the mixture in a used 8 oz. Laurys Seasoned Salt shaker and take it with us to sprinkle on restaurant fries. Mix the following ingredients together in a bowl: 1/4 cup salt 2 tbsp Paprika 1/4 tsp Turmeric 1/2 tsp Onion Powder 1 tsp Ground Coriander 1/2 tsp Corn Starch 1 tbsp Ground Celery Seed 1 tbsp Ground Cumin 1 tbsp Garlic Powder 1 tsp Fennel Seed 1 tbsp Crushed Red Pepper 1/2 tsp Cayenne Pepper 1 tsp Ground Black Pepper 2 Crushed Beef Bouillon Cubes Enjoy like it was the 1970s again!
