Sonrise-Would you like to be described as “selfish, self-centered”? Yet many people are. Even many people who claim to have a relationship with God. In their lives it is all about “me.” Is that o.k. and healthy for a person to concentrate only on what he or she wants. The Bible says “no.” In the story of the rick farmer whose fields performed way beyond his expectations, he kept saying “this I will, and then I will.” Jesus condemns him because he never asked God what he wanted him to do. James 4 says “13 Now listen, you who say, “Today or tomorrow we will go to this or that city, spend a year there, carry on business and make money.” 14 Why, you do not even know what will happen tomorrow. What is your life? You are a mist that appears for a little while and then vanishes. 15 Instead, you ought to say, “If it is the Lord’s will, we will live and do this or that.” 16 As it is, you boast in your arrogant schemes. All such boasting is evil.” Why not seek God’s plan for your life! You will be better off. Truth is, there is nothing uglier than a selfish, centered, it’s all about me person.
