Soon be time for the leaders to say bye to johns lee woods and all head on our own paths back home :( for another year. Its hard to explain what you fell at the end of a camp like this. A week away with 60 cubs 10 young leaders and loads of leaders. To some might be a night mare some may say its easy some will just complain or say they could do better. but the car journey home will be very sad as it will be the first time I will have had time to myself for the last 10 days. For us leaders male and female when the parents arrive to take your children home. There are tears in our eyes like in yours. Over the week we get to know your children get to know whats special and fantastic about them all. Yes there was 60 cubs but I have spent time over lunch, Breakfast and dinner ( suppa) talking to them. Or when they are a little upset fell out with friends missing mum and dad or xbox or even just want a chat we have all been here :). Before they all left we got the one gift from all most all. A thank you. Its the most simple gift but makes everything worth while. Over last few years of doing tribe with a number of groups outside of just my groups we have seen cubs come back year on year. With this being there 3rd and final year as there going on to scouts to even bigger adventures. Saying bye to thoese was even harder even these cubs had tears in there eyes but we all wish them well and hope we will see them again some day. We are only volunteers and all have to take holiday from work todo these camps But we put our hearts and soles into what we do. Please next time to some give a thought to those who give up our free time our holiday to do these fantastic things for your children and have a chat with us and say goodbye.
