Sooo Australia is a great nation of diversity and equality - - TopicsExpress

Sooo Australia is a great nation of diversity and equality - right? So in the great amount of debt that we are in - why has no one mentioned this? We are ALL Australian right, theres no such thing as your regular average Australian - right? We are taught and encouraged to treat everyone around us fairly as equals no matter what your race, colour or skin tone. Great! No worries! So why do the government still do it? I hear the refugees imigigrants miagrants or what every they are specifically once they are actually welcomed in and allowed to be here they are given more than your regular amount of money to live off and housing etc. I really dont know how much truth there is to that but... The aboriginal community are singled out for extra benefits. - I hope this doesnt rub any one up the wrong way- I dont mean it to. But we are ALL Australians right? You and me and the people around us no matter what our colour, race or history? Some of our Australian ancestors certainly played their cards wrong when creating the nation we live in today but the nation and its representatives have appolagised and I think for the most part we have all moved on and accepted one another as equals. So why the extra befits for some Australians and not the others, Im not saying cut them off and Im not necciaruly saying give them less but if I am the same as them, then why is it different. Why do I need to say I and them to make sense of that sentence. We are after all ALL the same, ALL Australians arent we? Ab study, aus study. What so - Australian federal Government- arent aboriginals Australian? Why on every school form, dr form etc does it say your not required to answer and it wont affect your equality but are you an aboriginal or torrens stray islander... If your not going to treat me any different then why ask the bloody question. (Hospitals etc I understand, different cultures might be prone to different illnesses but the rest whats it matter?) Couldnt we all be treated equally and then some of the money saved be used to save the country from our apparent debt, or redirected to help kids in school - all kids in all schools? Hmmm... Please note not trying to single out refugees and aboriginals - just an example but... All Australian - all equal. Right?
