Soooo..for a tribute to my sisters birthday, it was only appropriate to write a poem....pretty sure our life story has been rewritten at least a few times in a poem back and forth to each other....but heres a new one Big Jamers! When we were both young, a big age gap we did share I followed you around, and snuck your bodysuits to wear I served you and your friends, crackers and cheese Hoping for an invite, into the hot tub please! When I was in high school, a second mom I had around You were always there to tattle, when I was party bound! You went off to college, while I was in my high school years One WSU trip we bonded, over wine coolers and beers When I got a fake ID, our relationship grew We were able hang out, even double date too! Soon I was off to Western, but less than 2 years had gone by When you sent me an email, “Let’s Give Cali a try!” So we headed to LA, not knowing our plan Living with strangers, while catching a tan! From one bedroom apartments, to kitchens that don’t exist Bunnies and lizards welcome, the Merilyns insist! Appearing on dating shows, for our 10 minutes of fame Then we started a speed dating company, “Minute Match” was its name Whatever we did, we were quite the dynamic pair Selling light cubes in bars, or beauty products for hair You met your “Mr. Right,” while it was time for me to go I had to finish school, while a young stud I would soon know Years have passed, and so much has changed since then Such amazing kids we have, not to mention some pretty great men! No shared one bedroom apartments, but proximity still keeps us tight Living just down the street, makes it easier to drink wine at night! No more speed dating company, Designs By Dazzle takes its place Theres no stopping these Garvey girls, no matter of our space Although we’re no longer gallivanting, along the South Bay Piers The memories were NOW creating, are by FAR the BEST years!!!
