Soooooo the Dawg has a new bone, the cheating scandal at UNC, what a stunning shock in todays world. First, a shocker for you, that pro amateur student athletes cheated in school, or more clearly never even went. Secondly, horror of all horrors, that the school, a well known temple of Intellectual integrity, turned a blind eye to same. What really intrigued the Dawg about this totally predictable scandal is that there was no visible thought given by any of us, or the media obviously, about who -- namely us and them -- was creating the market for this abuse. The millions who skip work to watch March madness, the President doing his brackets etc., etc. Any of us who turned on the TV to watch or filled out a bracket, or took part in an office pool are all part of the problem, not the solution...are we dircetly guilty? No. By association. Yes. I am sure that cheating has gone on since time began in every area of human endevor, after all, we are dealing with human nature. However, it strikes the Dawg that it has rarely been so institutionalized at every level of society. There are of course, many levels of honesty and integrity for many folks, for some of us there is only one that will do. Do we attain it all the time? No. Do we try? Yes........
