Sooooooooooo.... its finally Friday... News 13 says Orlando Weather... Today, look for partly to mostly sunny skies with only a few scattered showers and thunderstorms developing as we move in to the afternoon. Temperatures will climb close to the 90 degree mark along the coast, with highs in the low-to-mid 90s over the interior as winds come in from the north-northeast at 5 to 10 miles per hour. Those showers will try to develop over the interior this afternoon, with a little better chance for action over the western interior. Look for a 10 percent chance along the coast with a 30 percent chance for some rain to the west of Orlando. So this am... hubby woke me and said we were going to the store, so for an hour Yara pushed and prodded till I got ready, dressed, mostly together and out the door. We made the walk to Winn Dixie... and discovered Id forgotten my list. naturally, I forgot half of what was on there... thats why I make lists. 0.o Im still sick, but better than I was, so improvement is a wonderful thingy. As with the past few days, there are still a million things to get done around the house... but we may get something actually accomplished today. we shall see. I was going to make spaghetti for dinner... but guess what one of the things I forgot to get at the store is.... sp sauce. so that is not going to happen... After we left the house ... I sent DW back cuz I forgot my hat... he said when he went back, someone was sitting at the door whinning... this is new. it could be that Miss thing thinks she should come with now when we leave the house. I do know she prefers to go with Yara on the nightly walks... and im guessing when im up to morning walks again, she will want to go on those also. We shall see what she can/will learn from brother while on these walks. AND... I have noticed that she will listen to me a lot faster than to DW... even if HE is the one walking her. If I tell her to stop pulling and knock her shit off, she is instantly good as gold... 0.o Yara is getting better at LEAVE IT, when it comes to kitties. he will still watch intently... but he no longer lunges when he sees one, and he doesnt try to pull me over to it anymore. when I tell him to leave it, he will watch it, but walk past without trying to bother it. and now, 2 particular kitties dont even bother to scurry out of our way when we walk. (which I think annoys Yara...) And the plan of not forcing attention on him and only giving him attention when he comes to ask for it is working. now when I get on the bed to hand out copious lovins on the sissy, Yara will crawl or move over so he gets in on the action... hes learning to adore tons of kisses and conversations... and even my horrid singing. =) (( see, it does take a special dog to put up with me )) And I find he more often will get up and wonder over to me just to put his head in my lap and get cuddles and kisses (he adores kisses on his wee tiny chin when hes roaching... those are drive by smoochens or the toll for walking past) And last night, both kids came to drag me to bed, and I got in, fixed my covers, and then took the cookie and put it up in the Yara spot at the head of the bed, and when I called him to come get up there, OLIVIA was in that spot in a flash -- I honestly did not know she could move that fast!! Poor Yara was still standing beside the bed going, Hey... you took my spot!... the look on his face... and Olivia is like, Then learn to come quick when Mum calls you, doofus. ;) So he got up on the bed in the middle and stretched out beside me, using the new patented Greyhound Pillow (my belly) to rest his wee head on... I tried to console him... and eventually he went to sleep. As far as Olivia/Yara dynamic. Sometimes Olivia forgets that she resents the brother. They occasionally slip into moments of playfulness, bouncing around the house when people are not looking (yep, you hear them)... and I have caught them indulging in the occasional mutual ear washing... But there are still a lot of times where I think shes still trying to teach him that she knows best how to take care of her Mum. When we come home and hes trying to cool down and recoup a little, she will lay at my feet or in my lap and stick to me like glue... and she will still SCHOOL him on certain things. So its kinda interesting to watch him teach her outside and her teach him inside. I think they are coming along. Olivia is accepting the fact hes not going anywhere, and its better to make the most of it. DW is going out to meet his tutor today... so we ought to be able to catch up on our tv shows, get more knitting done and see what kind of trouble we can get into while he is gone. Im sure between me, Olivia love bug and Yara love monkey, we can come up with something...
