Sorry I havent been on this weekend. I took some time off to regroup. Gold Rush Guys have been going strong all Summer. Friday evening, my last customer left about 6:00 PM. Since we work out of my condo, I took the time to chill out a little and laid down on my bed. Around 8:00 Friday night, I needed to get up and get something to eat and take care of my cat. Upon transferring back into my wheelchair, for some unexplained reason, the left break decided not to hold. The wheelchair went one way, leaving the sliding board and myself, hanging in mid-air. I went crashing to the floor on the wood sliding board and my tailbone. Hitting your tailbone is 10 time worse than your funny bone! I let loose with some unprofessional language. (More on that in a minute.) Mad at my wheelchair, my tailbone, at having to call 9-1-1 to come pick me up off the floor, at having to scoot out to the front room to unlock the door. I launched into a rant. I got it together and dragged myself and my wheelchair out to the living room, unlocked the door and called 9-1-1 for Charlotte Fire Dept. I had to stop ever 6 feet and pull my pants up. Scooting on carpet tends to pull my pants down around my knees. 5 minutes after I called 9-1-1, the Firefighters show up. 5 minutes after that, they have me safely back in my chair. (And yes, my tailbone was back to normal.) So while we are talking gold prospecting and metal detecting, guess who shows up? Charlotte/Mecklenburg Police! Seems a neighbor reported me for a 1 person shouting match and disturbing the peace! I explained to the office that it was most likely me, and the circumstance behind it. (It didnt hurt that there were still 5-6 Firefighters there to back my story up. Though they said that didnt hear me shout anything.) The Officer said, hed stick around for a few minutes just in case the shouting returned. He left, the Firefighters got their ladder truck turned around they they left. Now, I just have to be careful of how thin the condo walls are. (I tighten up the brake on the left wheel.) Saturday, was mostly phone calls and a few orders and some ordering on my part. Sunday, I packed somethings in my van for the Gold Festival and made some more room in the garage for Mondays 10 big boxes coming from UPS. Ill also get back on the contest. !
