Sorry I just had to share this story with my peeps. Not many stories nowadays shock me, but every once in a while one comes along that really gets to me. This is one of those stories and locals may have read this in the Tampa Bay Times yesterday. This man Allen Hicks suffered a stroke while driving over a year ago last May 2012 in Interstate 275 we all know so well down here. Witnesses called 911 as he had veered off the road and hit a guardrail and came to a stop. Police came and they actually charged him with resisting arrest due to not heeding their warnings to get out of the car. Obviously they were thinking he was drunk, but he was totally unresponsive. They took him to the Hillsborough County Jail in which they booked him, keep in mind they had to stick him in a wheel chair as they were having to carry him. After they booked him they threw him in a cell where he laid on the floor not moving. He laid there for 36 HOURS!!! No treatment No help Nothing! :( He died sometime during that 36 hours. They had it in the paper yesterday as his children were just awarded $1 million. I am happy with that, but it should have been $100 million and some heads need to seriously roll!!!!! I do not care who this man was as nobody and I mean NOBODY should be treated this was in a civil society. Come to find out this man was a longtime employee of the Hillsborough County School Board and a former well like and very good baseball coach. The saddest thing is they might have been able to save him as he was still alive when they tossed him on the cell block floor. I hope this pisses you off as much as it does me and some others will contact the sheriffs department as I will demanding justice! :( tampabay/news/courts/civil/inmates-untreated-fatal-stroke-results-in-1-million-settlement-by/2130278
