Sorry, but i really do not get the wisdom why a court has to set more than 20 cases for TRIAL when a half-day hearing could only accommodate at most 4 witnesses (one witness for each case), given the fact that after a witness has testified on direct, he still has to be examined on cross, then on re-direct and then again on re-cross, not mention possible clarificatory questions that the court may propound on him/her. I perfectly understand the need to prioritize the cases of these detention prisoners, but the situation on the ground and the realities of everyday court life simply do not jive with the ideal scenario. Witnesses are being subpoenaed left and right, only to find out when the clock strikes at 12:00 oclock noon that the prosecutor could no longer present these witnesses because of lack of material time. I can only imagine the anxiety and frustration in the minds of these witnesses who probably had to borrow money or use the only money they have just so they can testify and attend the hearings of their cases. If a court wants to project an image of speed and efficiency, this is obviously not the way to do it. It is counter-productive and defeats the very purpose for which trial dates are scheduled in the first place. #justsaying
