 To Whom It May Concern: Recommendation for Don Aters The purpose of this letter is to provide a strong letter of recommendation without any reservation whatsoever for Mr. Don Aters. Don can rightly be considered one of the world’s experts on much of the history of rock and roll. He has the photographs and documented publications to back up this assertion. I first met Don when he enrolled in Indiana University SE working on his degree programs. He eventually achieved a Master’s of Liberal Arts degree. I was Don’s mentor and supervising professor on his Master’s thesis. This thesis led to a book entitled, “Winds of Change. Life with Icons of Sixties Counter Culture”. Don was definitely an honor student while at IUS. His research was exemplary and he was crystal clear in his class work. I have never met such an engaging individual. He is a quick learner with energy, enthusiasm and good humor. What most impresses us though is that he is a high quality performer who does not lose his own calm collected individuality. Because I have been his mentor for some time now, I have become acquainted with his personal attributes. His significant positive qualities are that while he is a leader, he is also a warm, caring individual who has great concern and diligence in all his work effort. I have never heard him say a cross word about anyone. His interest in photography and the arts has led him to pursue this career track. I suppose a letter of this type should contain any negative aspects, but I really can’t think of any. In conclusion, I trust you will give Don Ater’s application your most serious consideration.
