Sorry for the edit Tomorrow I say goodbye to a one of a kind.......... Back in the late 90s as a single man working 2 jobs and having a thriving landscaping business in Charlotte, I joined a Corvette club and started showing a few cars that I owned. At a car show one spring, I was showing a few cars and the opportunity came about get a one of a kind. Another car? No.....As I was walking the infield looking for parts I came across an old country boy and his pick up truck. Laying on the tool box of the truck was an Australian Shepard just soaking up the sun. As usual, putting my foot in my mouth and said if i could find a dog that would hang out like that, Ied get one. Well no sooner than I got the words out of my mouth, the old country boy dropped the tail gate of the truck and out came a litter of puppies from under the tool box. I spoke too soon and had too many to chose from, until this little 2 blue eyed male walk up to me and it was a match made at a car show. We haggled a bit and even if he didnt budge a dime, ied of still left with that puppy. As I walked back to where my car was parked all my friends saw what I bought. A few folks helped in the naming and BANDIT evolved. A few brushes with the law (pound) and me leaving the country for a few years, he was still happy to see me when ever we reunited. The years have taken its toll on my car show puppy and those 2 blue eyes look so tried these days. Over the past few days its been hard for him to stand, climb the stairs and even bark at the kids running up and down the street. Tonight though, well be spending a little more time together and talking about that car show summer and............................. at that same car show I also got that old corvette in the pics, but it hasnt been near the companion I got that day.
