Sorry if Im being a downer here, but Ive been doing a lot of research on ALS and I just wanted to make an informative status about it. Please read the whole thing if you have time. ALS is a terminal disease that is currently incurable and eventually leads to immobility and death. Neurons that control the muscles slowly die, causing the patient to slowly lose control of their entire body. Because of this, they go into paralysis. They lose their ability to speak and breath, having to have the most basic foundations of life done for them. However, throughout all this, the patients mental process usually stays intact. So basically, they watch their body and life fall apart and can do absolutely nothing. Nothing, except with the knowledge of their inevitable death. Not many people have ALS, which is why the disease isnt well known. But I urge you to donate whatever you can to the ALS Association so no family has to go through this painful experience in the future. alsa.org/ Imagine if you were diagnosed with ALS and told that in a few months, you would start losing control of your arms, legs, and speech; that in 2-5 years, you would be in your grave. Its terrifying. Be a bit grateful today that youre currently walking and breathing. Were extremely fortunate to be able to overlook our health so much without a care in the world.
