Sorry its so late updating. It has been a bit overwhelming. Friday we were given three options to think about and today we met with the surgery team at St Jude. Chelsea has a tumor still located in her right lung. It is stable at this time but needs to be removed. Cancer in the lungs especially Osteo is hard to treat. Today we talked with her surgeon, she will be having surgery to remove the tumor in doing so they may have to remove her entire right lung. This is a very major surgery . The reason is because of the location of the tumor. It is deep inside her lung and connects to each of her three lobes. It is also close to her heart and major blood vessels. The surgeon said if he could just remove the bottom two lobes then he would but he has to make sure the margins are all negative but more than likely he will have to remove the entire lung to make Chelsea cancer free. This was a difficult decision to make but we let Chelsea help make the decision . She will be in hospital for at least week. The dr feels she should do really well and recover quickly. It will be a tough road ahead for her but she is a tough young lady and God will be holding her hand. This was not an easy decision for us . I have prayed all weekend for gods guidance. Chelsea will have to have a lung function test to establish a baseline before surgery. We do not have to surgery date yet. Hopefully, by tomorrow we will know when it will be. She will have to stay in Memphis during her recovery period which could 2 mths or more. Please continue to Pray for Gods Miracle for Chelsea! Thank you in advance for your prayers and support.
