Sorry lovelies, just getting out our {Social Justice Sunday} for the week. So much to say, but today, taking a step back, 47 years to be exact, when the United States Supreme Court ruled that it was unconstitutional for states to ban interracial marriages. In all, 15 states had banned marriage between whites and Asians (including South Asians). While many states repealed the decision prior to 1967, several states still keep the laws. The case of Loving v Virginia is a watershed moment for equal rights of marriage for racial groups as well as gay and lesbians. Let us keep progressing forward so that all our South Asian brothers and sisters may marry whom they want.
