Sorry re posting but had people request me to change my settings so they could share the post with their friends because of my privacy settings. So Posting again. Woke up to read this article in the LNJ this morning. I have to say I am glad others are thinking and I will be contacting Mr. Orms. Here is my issues with what is in this article..... I am going to point out that Gilbert says that the WO VOLUNTEER FD has no issue with the fire safety of the school. I personally know men and women on that fire dept. and yes there is issue. Some are fearful to speak up as it might hurt their business or future jobs in White Oak. Me? I am in the business of being a full time mom and standing up for what I feel is right so... I am not calling him a liar I am just saying my visits EVEN AFTER GILBERTS MEETING LAST WEEK with several on the fire dept many still have concerns even though the sprinkler system in place. But...dont take my word for it check out what the NATIONAL FIRE ENGINEERS have to say about what apparatus are needed for safety of our children. The fire engineers only have the interest of what is best for the citizens and safety for the firefighters themselves. Those engineers are not bias whereas those who work for those cities might approach the issue from more of a what can we afford or what can we get by with... or even the argument of Long. Fire can be here in 20 min. approach. Btw I think LFD rocks! fireengineering/articles/print/volume-148/issue-9/departments/volunteers-corner/when-should-you-purchase-an-aerial-ladder.html Second and very alarming.....Mr. Orms says in the article that he was instructed not to reveal what was being discussed not even with the school board. I will tell you from another experience with the person in question i encountered the same problem. I believe Orms statement is a true statement. Want to know more about my incident then private message me!! Lastly, in regards to the article stating the district having no concerns about architect is par for the course. I was in the construction business for 15 years and have an Uncle that has been in the business for over 45 years. With his opinion and personally,as a general contractor in both commercial and residential dealing with engineers in surveying, mechanical, electrical, hvac, civil, structural, and fire protection just to name a few... I worked with many engineers who were very established and have never been sued. Yes, of course multi-defendants have to be sued in a case because everyone will point the finger at the other parties involved. It wasnt the architect who designed the pretty building it was the civil engineers fault NO wait the civil engineer says it is the general contractor No wait the general contractor states it was the concrete guy No wait the concrete guy says he received bad concrete. Poop rolls down hill from the very top folks!! news-journal/news/local/opposition-emerges-to-m-white-oak-isd-bond/article_b0e9b007-4db4-5418-8857-66ffc0478f6b.html
