Sorry to rant, but I have to vent about cheapskate clients... I understand a lot of us cosplayers operate on a budget, but its funny how some people will request a commission saying they really wanna go all out on some enormous/ornate/complicated prop or costume, and then balk at the price theyre quoted... Yeah, a suit of Space Marine armor tends to cost $1-2 grand... If it was cheap (or easy), youd see a lot more people wearing them. You really want a Scissor Blade that actually opens, or daedric armor from Skyrim? Those ideas sound like dreams come true because youre unlikely to see them on a con floor. And thats because theyre either really expensive or really difficult to make (usually both). If youre on a budget, try to build it yourself or pick a less complicated cosplay. Commissions are always going to be more because youre paying someone for their time AND their expertise. :P Okay sorry, Im done!
