Do away with ACoRF (Advisory Council on Recreational Fishing) and MFAC (Ministerial Fishing Advisory Council) and replace both those bodies with a single advisory body Elected by fishers, made up of fishers representing every region in the State, funded by fishers through their licence fees namely the ‘Joint Advisory Body’ (JAB) 2. In future, submissions, petitions, discussion papers etc will not be recognised by residents outside of Australia, and in cases where issues relate only to NSW, submissions will only be recognised by residents of NSW”. 3. A permanent moratorium on Marine Parks. i.e. Recreational fishing to be re-introduced into existing Sanctuary Zones and no new Marine Parks to be declared unless there is independent, peer reviewed, local scientific evidence to show an absolute need for the creation of sanctuary zones or seasonal/spawning closures. The Marine Park Authority has already been shut down and we will be demanding that the Marine Estate Management Authority will follow through with their original statement “that the whole marine environment deserves to be protected from all threats, not just perceived fishing pressure”. 4. At all meetings between Ministerial staff or DPI Fisheries and recreational fishers, there must be a representative from the commercial fishing sector present and conversely at all meetings involving commercial fishers there must be a recreational fishing representative present. 5. ECOfishers be recognised as a peak body advocate for the recreational fishing sector in NSW. 6. Continue to promote sustainability and habitat protection.
