Southern Poly is an engineering school. Kennesaw has a phenomenal science program, but students wont stay at KSU Marietta Campus to get an engineering degree, they will transfer to that other place downtown. I have a B.S. in Chemistry from KSU. I will graduate in December with a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from SPSU. KSU is a great school. SPSU is a great school. The merger however, is I believe a terrible idea. SPSU has a very unique and great history as a technical school. The engineering students and faculty have worked extremely hard to make a good name for ourselves as an engineering school in our own right. This may save money and in some ways could be good for the system but it will destroy the engineering program at SPSU.
