Speak it out : Turning the other cheek. Not exactly a widely held - TopicsExpress

Speak it out : Turning the other cheek. Not exactly a widely held principle to live by. Someone takes something from me and instead of seeking revenge or justice, I should give them more? Someone hurts me and I should allow them to do it again? Although it may seem abnormal it is a principal God expects us to live by. God does not expect us to be a doormat, but He does expect us to love no matter what. God cares for us and meets our every need, we are not lacking. The message here is not about us or our loss or even what will happen to us if we do not receive justice. We are continually under His protection and care. We have received His gift of mercy and grace and we walk in the light of His truth that dwells within us. We must have compassion for the souls that are lost and are lacking. God loves that lost soul and perfect love is what is required to win it over. He is not willing that any are lost but that all come to repentance. Imagine for a moment how you would feel if you inflicted pain or an injustice on another, but instead of receiving their wrath you received love and forgiveness. The power of perfect love is great and it will always triumph. Prayer: Give me the ability to go beyond what is normal and acceptable and to love beyond measure. To love those who are not asking, those who have offended me. You are my avenger and I place my anger, my hurt in your hands. Let Your love be perfected in my life, and allow it to triumph, and embrace the soul that is lost and in need of You. Read Matthew 5:39 - But I say unto you, That ye resist not evil: but whosoever shall smite thee on thy right cheek, turn to him the other also.
