Speaker reviews arrangements for forthcoming Assembly Session SRINAGAR, SEPTEMBER 18: The Speaker, Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly, Mr. Mubarak Gul on Wednesday directed the Police and Civil Administration to work with utmost dedication and make the forthcoming Assembly Session commencing from September 30, 2013 a grand success. He also asked them to submit reply of questions to the Assembly Secretariat well in time. The Speaker was addressing a high level meeting of officers of police and civil administration convened to review the arrangements made for forthcoming Assembly Session here on Wednesday. Threadbare discussion was held on parking facilities for media persons, proper regulation of traffic, providing of sufficient and regular supply of water to the Legislative Complex, installation of water proof Shamiana in the premises of the complex besides medical facilities. While discussing the pace of work on face lifting of the complex, it was informed that the work will be completed within three days. The Speaker directed the PDD authorities to ensure uninterrupted power supply during the course of the session. He also asked SMC to ensure cleanliness in and around the entire premises and lawn of the legislature complex. He asked JKTDC to ensure canteen facility in the premises for the convenience of the legislators. Mr. Gul also directed Secretary Assembly to ensure quality of food in MLA Hostel Srinagar. The Speaker directed Director Tourism Kashmir to display sceneries especially heritage places within the corridors of the Assembly Secretariat. Detailed discussion was also held regarding preparation of business material in Government Press. Mr. Gul directed the authorities of Government Press to ensure immediate and timely supply of Parliamentary papers like AQ lists and Bills on priority. To ensure and keep the lawns of Legislator Complex in full bloom, the Speaker directed the floriculture authorities to replace old and broken flower vases besides decorating the main entrances. Mr. Gul directed the Secretary General Administration Department to ensure at least one representative from the essential departments like PHE, R&B and Home in Officers Gallery in Zero Hour during the course of the Session. Bukhari, Secretary Law, Mr. Mohammad Ashraf Mir, Director General Fire and Emergency Service Dr. G. A. Bhat, Director Information, Mr. Zaffar Ahmad, Secretary Assembly Mr. M. Ramzan, DIG Kashmir Mr. S. A. Mujtaba, District Development Commissioner Srinagar Mr. Farooq Ahmad Shah, Director Tourism Kashmir Mr. Talat Parvez, Director Floriculture Kashmir Mr. Sunil Mishri, Director Estates Mr. M. M. Gupta, Chief Engineer PHE Kashmir Mr. A. Muzaffar Lankar, Chief Engineer PDD Mr. B. A. Khan, Commissioner SMC Srinagar Dr. G. N. Qasba, Managing Director JKTDC Mr. Shamim Wani and other senior officers from JKPCC, BSNL and Assembly Secretariat.
