Speaking of community events, this Sunday (September 21st) is the 10th annual Race with Grace. This event, which includes a 5K and 1 mile fun walk, benefits the Mary Grace Memorial Foundation (MGMF). This foundation has helped more than 350 local families suffering in the devastating wake of cancer diagnoses, by alleviating some of the financial burden placed upon them, so they can focus on battling the disease. “We (MGMF) help pay for basic necessities, such as mortgage and rent payments, car payments, gas and grocery expenses, and very special requests we were able to secure the donation of tires for a gentleman so he could safely drive his wife to chemotherapy treatments.” This truly is a amazing and valuable community resource and support system.
