Special Announcement from The Sweetery! The Sweetery Bake Shop currently features a retail area with a variety of goodies – from our own individual baked goods, packaged retro candies and drinks, to snacks, Blue Bell ice cream treats and cookie cutters. Although The Sweetery was born centered around cupcakes, our custom decorated cake business has taken the lead and even outgrown what we can successfully produce with our current retail structure. The majority of our cake customers are coming back again and again, for each special occasion in their life. And they are recommending us to friends and family, which means we are getting new cake customer every week as well! For that, we are grateful and thankful! We always strive to make the Sweetery experience a pleasant one for each and every customer, and based on feedback from our customers, we feel that our approval rating is pretty darn good! Any successful business owner will agree that it is better to do a few things WELL than do multiple things “okay”. So after many heart-wrenching discussions and lots of humble prayers, we made a difficult yet necessary and positive decision. On or before September 16, The Sweetery will transition fully into a Cake and Special Order Shop. And we are very excited! What does that mean to you? It means that we will be building and strengthening our cake decorating department so that we may better serve more cake customers by saying “YES” to late-comers rather than “I’m sorry, we are completely full”. It means we will be developing a mid-range line of birthday cakes and have them ready to go same or next day, and that you will be able to come in and buy a delicious dessert cake from our case. It means we will be able to better serve the customers who need special order baked goods for special events, or simply for every day enjoyment. The down side is that after the transition, we won’t offer individual baked goods from our bakery case…we won’t carry ice cream, candy or drinks. That part of our business will give way to a Cake Consult area and a bakery case with yummy ready-to-buy cakes. The upside is that you will be able to call ahead, order anything from our Special Order brochure, including our cupcakes by the 6-pack or dozen, whole pans of Lemon Chess Squares, Corn Flake Crunchies, or our fudgy brownies, cookies by the dozen, etc. for same day or after pick-up. Our Special Order brochures will be available in-store in the next week. We hope you will join us in our excitement as we build The Sweetery to become the greatest little cake shop in north Mississippi!
