But parents have voted to proceed with national demonstrations across the country today to highlight outstanding issues such as SNA provision and shared access, and changes to administration of July Provision Scheme. “Our call to action was not solely about raising awareness of a single issue of resource hours. They are not the only issue that parents and schools have to cope with, we also need to highlight the problem relating to Special Needs Assistants provision which will be further exacerbated by having to share the allocations with an extra 2000 children requiring SNA support, while the CAP on SNA numbers remains in place at 10,575″~ Lorraine Dempsey, Chairperson SNPA Demonstrations will be held in the following locations and times today Wednesday 26th June: • 6pm outside Leinster House, Kildare Street • 5pm outside City Hall, Limerick • 6pm outside Department of Education & Skills, Athlone • 5pm St. Patrick’s Bridge, Cork City • 6pm Eyre Square, Galway • 6pm The Clock Tower, Boyle, Roscommon • 6pm Market Square, Letterkenny, Donegal • 10:30 outside Clare FM, Francis St. Ennis, Clare • 6pm Market Yard, Carrick on Shannon, Leitrim • 6pm Enda Kenny’s Constituency Office, Tucker St. Castlebar • 5pm Cathedral of Christ the King, Mullingar The Association has a responsibility to highlight the prevalent issues on behalf of all of its members and to persevere on their behalf and stand in solidarity.
