Special joint prayer session for Sheikh Zakzaky’s late mother held in Qom, Iran A special joint prayer for the repose of the soul of Sheikh Zakzaky’s mother was held in Qom, Iran on Wednesday between African students and Imam Sadiq Foundation (Mu’assatu Imam Sadiq). The occasion took place at the Hussainiyyah al-Shuhada. The prayer session which drew participant students from different African countries, offices of renowned Iranian clergies. Representatives from offices Iranian spiritual Guide, Sayyid Ali Khamenei (H), Ayatullahi Makarim Shirazi, Sayyid Hakeem and that of Head of Almustapha University, graced the occasion. The event started with full recitation of the Holy Qur’an and Ziyarat Ashura, and concluded with prayer to Allah to repose the soul of mother of the Leader of Islamic Movement in Nigeria, Sheikh Ibraheem Zakzaky who died recently in Nigeria. Speaking exclusively to the African students after the occasion, Ayatullah Tab’etaba’e explained how he knew Sheikh Zakzaky over 25 years ago in Ghana. He stated that, during that time he conducted an exclusive study for Sheikh Zakzaky for ten days, after which he gave him some books and he came back to Nigeria. According to Ayatullah Tab’etaba’e, on Sheikh Zakzaky’s return to Nigeria he became a “a torch-bearer of guidance and vanguard of Shi’ism that Nigeria is yet to produce his equal”, as a result of which he said, earned him incarcerations in several prisons. “Support to Sheikh Zakzaky is the responsibility of all Shi’ites, support for School of Ahlul Bayt (AS) lies with him. He is the Vanguard of Shi’a, and Shi’ites are his vanguards”, he declared.
