Speech by Dr. Salah Abdalati in Sweden,Friday October 31th 2014, on the occasion of the recognition of the State of Palestine by Sweden: We as Palestinians thank the Swedish government and the Swedish Political parties for the recognition of the Palestinian State. This decision is in line with the global Human Rights principles and the Palestinians right of becoming stable and liberated. The recognition is a sensible reaction to the Israeli war crimes in Palestine, specifically those committed in Gaza.This war killed approximately 2457 martyrs, the majority of them are women and children. 11000 people were injured and 40000 homes were destroyed. On top of that we have to deal with other aggressive policies like the continuation of building the Discriminatory Wall in West Bank and the situation of the Palestinian prisoners. This recognition is a message to the other European countries and the rest of the countries worldwide that stand with Palestine. Know that Palestinian liberation will be achieved only by the creating of two countries who can live in peace. The solution lies in the recognition of the Palestinian State with its capital ( Alquds ) and the return of the refugees as mentioned in the UN decision 194. This historical decision of the Swedish government supports the Palestinian life. We are calling the others countries to follow Sweden.To conclude: We want to again thank the Swedish government and the Swedish people for being so courageous to recognise Palestine and we thank all who support us.
