Spent a lovely lunchtime meeting a lovely man from Australia, called Keith. He lived his life in NZ as a boss for Rank Xerox and retired to Australia. Hes 79 now. His grandparents owned our house and he wanted to meet us and have a look around. He played here as a child often and loved it. He says when his grandparents had it, they had a tennis court (which no-one used) and a bowling green at the back ( my boys were not impressed we dont have anything like that now!!). It also had a fish pond the size of a tennis court, but they didnt own that. Keith and his grandparents would sit under the stairs during air raids as they were so sturdy. Our lounge door has moved from near the front door to near the kitchen! He didnt think hed be back in the country again and leaves on Monday. Hes staying at The Broadoak Hotel (which is how I first heard of him off Michael Frith and then Bruce Robbins met him and invited him to our house for a drink). He very thoughtfully brought me some flowers. He remembers the couple who lived next door the Lowes. We never met them but, Stewart and Margaret Lowe (no relation! but next door again ,until previously do.) Please pass on the story Rebecca Susca and Ruth Bakerson-Lowe in case your parents would like to meet him tomorrow before he flies back. Safe journey back, Keith Love Angela
