Spent a week on safari where we saw the Big 5 in the first day, were charged by bull elephants, saw a lion stalk, hunt and kill an African buffalo, saw leopards kill an impala and drag her up a tree, saw baby hyenas, cheetahs, white and black rhinos, a lion and lioness mating, were taken by surprise by two lionesses while having our afternoon drink in the bush ........ yet it all pales into insignificance compared to our last two days in Cape Town. Yestrday we cage dived with great white sharks and today we were prey to a different kind of shark. One which stalked us to the cash point and took our card from right under our noses to withdraw CHF1800 from another ATM before we had had the chance to report the theft to our UBS bank in Switzerland. On our way back to the hotel, after being robbed, someone drove in to the back of our taxi. As they say, things happen in threes. After dealing with police and paperwork, we go out to eat at a beautiful and highly recommended restaurant. Dom orders impala and I the ostrich. The food was amazing but after a few mouthfuls Dom retrieves from his mouth a piece of the bullet that had killed the impala. We fly home tomorrow but would return to South Africa in a heart beat!!
