Spent the weekend in Southern Ohio for the first time since last - TopicsExpress

Spent the weekend in Southern Ohio for the first time since last hunting season... Since Ive been going down there, the drive has always meant having to pass the trash mountain right off 77 in Stark County. Nothings changed there. Its still on fire underground according to thermal imaging. Though for the first time, it seems the trash is spreading south. The Earth on the corner of 77 and 250 near New Philadelphia is being scoured. What for? I can only hypothesize... Trucks can be seen driving frantically across Southern Ohio hauling fresh water to the fracking sites that are popping up all over the once quaint towns of Tippecanoe, Freeport, Cadiz, Dennison, and Piedmont. Gas holding tanks are now shadowing what was once clear, flat farm land. Even Reynolds Road, what was once a quiet, semi-dirt road that leads only to the banks of Piedmont Lake is now a beaten road thanks to the trucks syphoning water from the Muskingum Watershed. Their goal seems to be converting clean water into tainted waste. On this same road theyre now clearing the way for a flowline, so they wont have to bother with the apparently daunting path of ~two miles to the lake, but will now only have to simply pull off of Route 800... The $$ offered for mineral right leases seem to have been too much for people to turn down. Weve sold out.
