Spice Trader $185 USD On one side of the tote bag is a portrait of the Spice Trader. He is just amazing -- it is like he is looking at you. The portrait is painted is shades of brown with a brown background -- and his turban is a grey color. There is something about his face that is just mesmerizing -- if a portrait can tell a story -- this mans portrait can tell a thousand stories (yes, like in A Thousand and One Arabian Nights). On the other side of the tote is the ship he has sailed on. The ship and mast are painted in shades of rust, brown, orange and black. There are three men sitting on the ship, and the top of the ship is dripping in blues and orange. On the other side of the painting there is tall ancient building painted in grey. The background of the painting is a mustard color with black birds flying in the sky. The tote bag has been constructed from two paintings. The interior of the bag is cotton canvas and has a pocket. The leather handles are attached with rivets (I left the straps their original length -- which means one is longer than the other. I like the straps like that; however, if you would like them more even, the leather is very easy to cut). The tote is about 11 inches tall, 13 inches wide, and the sides are 5 inches deep. This is a great size tote bag (I use mine as a shoulder bag). The strap drop is about 11 inches, so you can easily carry the tote on your shoulder. The tote is designed to age beautifully. The idea behind the tote--is that--you get to wear your art--tote it around--and when you return home, you can hang your tote on a hook or hanger and still enjoy your art. Each bag is one of a kind -- no one will have a tote bag like yours. I include a lavender sachet with each bag--if you are allergic to lavender or do not care for the fragrance of lavender, please let me know. The pictures do not really do the art/tote justice.
