Spiritual Boldness For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind (2 Tim. 1:7). The Bible says, “the righteous are bold as a lion” (Proverbs 28:1), for there’s a supernatural power at work in the life of a Christian that produces divine courage. We find this in the lives of the Old Testament prophets and the Apostles. Consider David, who as a young lad, fearlessly challenged and defeated Goliath. What these Bible characters knew that made them bold in the face of adversity was the knowledge of their right standing with God. Righteousness consciousness makes you bold, and this makes you unashamed and unafraid to stand up tall for Jesus. You become energized for the ministry of reconciliation. This is the secret to effective evangelism—knowing who you are and what you have in Christ; having the consciousness that you’re backed by Deity. The Christian is a participator in divinity, and to be able to experience this to the full, you need to recognize and take advantage of the dynamic ability of the Spirit that’s at work in you. Apostle Peter understood this and boldly commanded a man who was lame from birth to rise up and walk: “Silver and gold have I none; but such as I have give I thee: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth rise up and walk” (Acts 3:6). That was spiritual boldness at work. Such audacity of faith is a function of the place of righteousness which you now occupy in Christ. Like Peter, be bold to act your faith! Be bold to address the devil and negative circumstances in the Name of Jesus and expect a change. Be bold to act your faith today and use the Name of Jesus. Confession The Spirit of God is working in my life, producing boldness and divine confidence in me. I’m bold to put my faith to work, knowing that God has not given me the spirit of fear but of love, of power and of a sound mind. I function with the ability of the spirit today in the Name of Jesus. Amen. FURTHER STUDY Proverbs 28:1; Acts 4:31
